I'm not a fan of rap, but this music video is different. It's a song by Nick Cannon, and it's about a woman facing her choice in an abortion clinic.
It's based on Nick's life, and how his mother decided to keep him. It isn't very well known, but Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood and early pioneer of the Pill, was a vehement eugenicist and racist.
Today, African American women make up 36% of abortions, while blacks overall are only 18% of the American population. Looks like Marge got what she wanted.
Thankfully, the message in this music video is to girls of every color: their baby is a gift; either for them, or an adoptive family.

Two Years
Wow. I can't believe it's already been two years since I started on Blogger (and almost three since I started my first blog). My very first blog was a birthday gift from my parents. They let me start it when I turned sixteen. I shortly moved to Wordpress, and after several months there, I finally relocated to Blogger. This blog has seen many changes in my life, and I'm so thankful to have a record of them, as well as all my wonderful followers. It's been a great two years!

Ten Things That Make me Happy
After seeing what Nicole posted on her blog, I was inspired to write about ten things that make me happy. There are lots more, but these are some of the biggies.

Updating: Life
Betcha can't guess what this one's about! :-)
On New Year's Day, Ridge and I found out that, in early September of this year, our house is going to be expanded by two (rather small) feet! We wanted to wait a couple of weeks before telling everyone, but everything is going well, and we are very excited!

The Way I Am
I found this cute music video by Ingrid Michaelson today. She wants to be a clown, but just doesn't fit in. It's a sweet reminder that our loved ones see us for who we are, not how we measure up to others. Enjoy!

My Husband is So Nice
I grew up listening to Keith Green- I can't think of a time that his songs haven't been a part of my life. However, Ridge finds his music too "70's." Fair enough, since I can't seem get real enjoyment out of his "Gregorian Masters of Chant."
After Christmas, Ridge told me that he was going to give me another belated gift. I didn't know what that could be, until he asked me where to buy the Gold and Silver Ministry Years Collections. So we ordered them from Last Days Ministries, and they arrived yesterday. Hooray! Now I can get my Green fix, as long I as wait til my sweet and generous husband leaves for work. :-)
